Angela Rajfur, M.A. (School Psychology), M.Ed. (Counselling Psychology)

PhD Student (Clinical Psychology)

Angela is in her first year of her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Manitoba.  Her doctoral research explores the experiences of women seeking and receiving an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis. More broadly, Angela’s interests include counsellor education, treatment for trauma disorders, and research that impacts clinical practice.  She currently works as a research assistant with St. James School Division/Teachers Idea Fund exploring the impact of cognitive behavioural strategies and the Circle of Courage on students’ well-being. Angela has also worked as a school psychologist.

Alanna Beyak, B.Sc. (Hons.)

M.A. Student (School Psychology)

Alanna is currently in the third year of the 3-year thesis MA in School Psychology. She received her Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Manitoba under the supervision of Dr. Leslie Roos in the Hearts and Minds Lab. After graduation, she spent a year working at St. Amant as an Autism Tutor and continuing to assist in research through the Hearts and Minds Lab.  During her graduate studies, she has been awarded Social Sciences and Humanities Research (SSHRC) funding, a Psychology Graduate Fellowship, and a University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship. Alanna's research is supported by Mitacs (in partnership with Asperger Manitoba and Level IT Up), the goal of the project is to develop a skills training program for adults on the autism spectrum who do not usually qualify for support and therefore have few services catered towards them.

A.J. Martens, B.A. (Hons.)

M.A. Student (School Psychology)

AJ is currently in his first year of the 3-year thesis MA in School Psychology. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in psychology at the University of Manitoba under the supervision of Dr. Janine Newton Montgomery in May of 2023. After spending a year working as a research assistant, AJ has entered the program looking to work on research that involves assessing the construct validity of Emotional Intelligence (EI) Scales in Autism Spectrum Disorder populations. AJ is the recipient of a Psychology Graduate Fellowship.
